Well, to say that 2017 has been a big year is an understatement.
Between graduating, moving back to my home town, starting a career, a solo trip to New York (and a few domestic trips somewhere in between), buying a house, moving into said house, and getting into a relationship, I can’t exactly say that I have eased myself back into life after practically isolating myself for 12 months to complete a rather full on Masters degree.
I was talking to a friend last night about kicking goals and reaching destinations. Well, for all intents and purposes, I have kicked quite a few goals this year. This year has been about establishing strong foundations that I am really looking forward to building upon.
I’ve always balked at the idea of New Years resolutions – because every day is an opportunity for development and change. But it is a good time to slow down enough to look back at how far you’ve gone to make an intentional decision about where to next.
Although this year has been about the big things, next year my focus is going to be on the little everyday things. Cooking, yoga, running, entertaining, local adventures, painting, writing and spending more time around the house. Although I have gained a lot over the last year, what I have probably missed the most is a set routine, which I hope to get back again. With so much happening, I’ve also found it really hard to just chill out. I want to break some bad habits and pick up some good ones again. And relationships are also going to continue to be key. Not just romantically, but also being really intentional about keeping strong relationships with family and friends.
I have been abundantly blessed this year in so many ways. And I am so incredibly grateful.
What goals have you smashed this year? And what are some of the things you are working towards? I would love for you to share in the comments below.
I hope that your 2018 is filled with love, joy, peace, adventure and an abundance of incredible opportunities.
xx

Happy New Year, Liz! It’s so fun to here about all that you had going on this year. This year I’m looking forward to blogging regularly for a full year, finding an exercise routine that works for me, and getting married!
