two peas in a pod (espresso)

In the craziness of my life at the moment, I am not feeling too crash hot. As always with these things, timing is not exactly perfect. However, I suppose all you can do is deal with it…

And how better to deal with it than to grab a sneaky açai bowl with the sister before your doctor appointment?

Today we visited Pod Espresso in Stafford. Thankfully over the last few years there has been an increase in great cafes on the Northside of Brisbane. Whilst cafes specialising in beautiful healthy foods (especially including açai bowls) are still few and far between, there are a few gems, like Pod Espresso, that are tucked away.

If you weren’t looking for it, you could easily miss the small establishment located in a street off Stafford Road. However, it is definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled for the little cafe that is conveniently located across the street from a great local fruit shop that often has fantastic specials advertised.

Our açai bowls today were absolutely spectacular and utterly delicious. Served with a generous topping of coconut yoghurt and a light sprinkling of muesli, they were presented by the lovely staff with such detailed perfection and care. The cafe itself smelled mouth-wateringly wonderful the moment that we walked through the doors, with everything baked fresh on site. I highly recommend and can’t wait to try more of their menu (again, it is a little hard to go past the açai bowl with the sister still in town).

Sickness and all, it was hard not to feel like two happy little peas in a pod.
