table tales

the açai flood

12 April, 2015

I cannot remember the last time I have had so many açai bowls in the one week.  Not that I am complaining, but since Emerald hasn’t exactly ventured into the world of açai bowls, the search for the best with my sister is temporarily in overdrive. As they say; when in Brisbane…

And we are doing a few good job of fitting in as many as we can.

Before work on Friday we went to Primal Pantry in Teneriffe. I have to admit, it was one of the prettiest bowls that I have had. Although edible flowers make everything prettier. I actually want to go back and try some other options on their menu (especially their lunch) and was close to actually ordering something else, but they had just run out of what I wanted, so açai bowl it was.

The next was this morning at Daily Squeeze in Chirn Park at the Gold Coast. This was a thicker, creamier version than usual, but was absolutely delicious. I loved the decor of the cafe and the look of their menu too.

When my sister goes back to Emerald and the açai frenzy is paused, I really have a lot of cafes I want to go back to to enjoy a fabulous savoury breakfast (where my heart truly lies). However, thankfully we still have five more sleeps until she leaves…

Surely time for a few more açai bowls before then.
