Not many people can say that they have water frontage accommodation at the Gold Coast within walking distance from Surfers Paradise anytime they want. Ok, so not to try and float my own boat (or goat, as my sister would say), but I have just that.
About 8 years ago, my aunty decided to buy an incredible apartment overlooking the ocean. Although I don’t get down as often as I like, I absolutely love it when I do. Sunrise walks along the ocean, amazing views, great shopping, lots of fabulous cafés and markets to explore, and great food. Yeah, some people have it really hard.
Because my aunty is going to Sydney over Easter, we decided to go down to the Gold Coast and celebrate with her a week early. There were prawns, pulled pork, a roast beetroot, walnut and goat’s cheese salad and chocolate. Lots of chocolate. See what I said about the food? Lunch was made all the more special by being joined by my cousin’s beautiful family. They currently live in this gorgeous, but completely surreal little village outside of London. They were kind enough to let me stay with them when I visited the UK last year, where my cousin’s wife and I spent the week exploring the amazing English countryside. I literally stepped onto the set of “Pride and Prejudice”. Oh, the amazing memories.
We also had two special little guests who joined us on the balcony for lunch.
What a perfect way to start Easter celebrations…
I may need to buy bigger pants.

Happy Easter Day, just a week early.
